Why was my order rejected for no trading permissions when I have permissions for ETFs?

Even if you have ETF trading permissions, an order may still be rejected if the product is subject to PRIIPs restrictions.
Retail investors resident in the European Economic Area, or EEA, are generally required to receive a Key Information Document, or KID, before investing in certain packaged investment products. These products may include ETFs, ETNs, funds, derivatives such as options and futures, and certain structured or debt instruments. The KID provides key information about the product, including its costs, risks, performance scenarios and product characteristics.
If the issuer or manufacturer of the product has not provided a PRIIPs-compliant KID that can be distributed to EEA retail clients, opening orders for that product may be rejected. This is a regulatory restriction and is separate from having general ETF trading permissions.
This restriction generally does not prevent the client from closing an existing position. If you already hold the product and wish to close the position, you should use the Close function to create a closing order.
Please note that some ETFs or ETNs may also require additional permissions, such as permissions for Complex or Leveraged Exchange Traded Products, depending on the characteristics of the instrument.
