Verizon Business (NYSE:VZ) and BlackRock announced today that a private 5G network from Verizon will feature at BlackRock Inc.'s new Hudson Yards headquarters.
The deal brings secure 5G Ultra-Wideband connectivity that can replace office WiFi at Hudson Yards, the beginning of what the telecom giant expects to be a major new business opportunity.
Deployment of the On-Site 5G will allow BlackRock to take advantage of workplace-of-the-future tools and applications, including virtually enhanced training, AR/VR, enhanced security management and monitoring, real-time edge computing, and emerging data-centric technology.
BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, plans to occupy 15 floors of the new 50 Hudson Yards tower while securing $25 million in tax credits from the state for keeping and creating jobs in New York.
"Our vision from the beginning was to create a world-class, tech-centric experience for our people and our clients. As we usher in a new world of work, the vibrant and dynamic environment that we are looking to create will give our people the best opportunities to succeed and better serve our clients." - COO Rob Goldstein of BlackRock.
