Carnival Cruise Line stated that it is extending its sailing pause out of the US by a month through the end of June as US authorities haven’t laid out a transparent timeline for a resumption of cruises.

The Carnival Corp. flagship line hasn’t made plans to move ships outside its US ports, though it “may have no choice but to do so in order to resume our operations which have been on halt for over a year, “Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy stated on Tuesday.

In the US., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s conditional-sailing order needs operators to conduct mock sailings and apply for a certificate at least 60 days before offering passenger cruises. The trade group for cruise operators, which Carnival is a part of, has asked the CDC to remove the order.
