API For Developers

The MEXEM domain or API and FIX allow the investors, the financial establishments and the traders to create automatic systems that take advantage of the special performance abilities of MEXEM and the global availability.

MEXEM and API Interactive Brokers

You can design your trading application in Excel, C++, Posic C++, Visual Basic, Java etc. with the APIworkspace of MEXEM, the API connection is done with the trading program TWS or through the gateway. It does not require further advanced things such as the FIX server.

We recommend that the components of the API are checked by the developers for their security account or their TWS Demo account before they upload the systems in live money.

You can choose which technology best suits you.

Access TechnologyPerformancePlatformHas Sample Application
JavaVery robust and reliable; high performance.Platform-independentYes
C++ (POSIX-compliant)Very robust and reliable; high performance.Platform-independentYes (limited functionality)
PythonVery robust and reliable; high performance.Platform-independentYes
.NET (C#)Very robust and reliable; high performance.Windows onlyYes
C++ (MFC)Very robust and reliable; high performance.Windows onlyYes
ActiveXSomewhat robust and reliable (ActiveX can lose events); fairly high performance.Windows onlyYes
DDELimited; uses obsolete technologies; lower performance.Windows onlyYes (limited functionality)

FIX CTCI

Our FIX CTCI domain allows you to design the automatic trading systems that take advantage of MEXEM.

In every entrance you can select your preferred connection. You may want to connect with the TWS for a checkout, or utilize the Gateway in order to save resources. The two probabilities contain a close adjustment with the automatic systems, however, TWS has a visual display, which does not occur in the Gateway.

Types of Connectivity

You can connect each account to one type of connection. An account which contains a number of accounts, such as a portfolio manager, can receive a connection to all of the accounts.

The time given for changing the connection is around one week.

Connection TypeDescription
InternetStandard connection through public internet. Requires MEXEM Gateway connection interface.
ExtranetA T1 line routed to one of MEXEM’s extranet providers, Radianz TNS or Savvis. They route directly to MEXEM over a secure private line.
VPNA T1 line routed to one of MEXEM’s extranet providers, Radianz TNS or Savvis. They route directly to MEXEM over a secure private line.
Cross-ConnectEquinix NY4 colocation facility (tier 4 datacenter) is located in Secaucus, New Jersey. MEXEM has a client point of presence at this datacenter. Clients who are also located in this datacenter can order a cross-connect from the datacenter to MEXEM’s client facing servers there. The client is responsible for the costs of the cross-connect. Once the cross-connect is ordered by the client (with NY4), MEXEM’s network engineers will work with the client and the datacenter.
