 API For Developers

The MEXEM environment of API and FIX allow traders, investors, and financial institutions to create automatic systems that take advantage of the unique performance abilities of Interactive Brokers and the global availability.

API Interactive Brokers-MEXEM

You can create your trading application in Excel, C++, Posix C++, Java, Visual Basic etc. via the API workspace of MEXEM. The API connection is done via the trading program TWS or through the gateway.  It does not require additional technical factors such as the FIX server.

We recommend that the developers check the components of the API for their security account or for their TWS Demo account before they upload the systems in live money.

You can choose which technology you prefer and is best suited for you

FIX CTCI

Our FIX CTCI environment enables you to create automatic trading systems that take advantage of IB.

Connection

With each entry you can choose your preferred connection. You may want to connect with the TWS for a checkout, or to operate the Gateway in order to save resources. The two possibilities contain a close synchronization with the automatic systems.  However, TWS has a visual display which does not exist in the Gateway.

Types of Connections

You can associate each account to one type of connection. An account with multiple accounts, such as with a portfolio manager, can receive a connection to all of the accounts.

The time period for changing the connection is approximately one week.

Connection TypeDescription
InternetStandard connection through public internet. Requires MEXEM Gateway connection interface.
ExtranetA T1 line routed to one of MEXEM’s extranet providers, Radianz TNS or Savvis. They route directly to MEXEM over a secure private line.

Cross-ConnectEquinix NY4 colocation facility (tier 4 datacenter) is located in Secaucus, New Jersey. MEXEM has a client point of presence at this datacenter. Clients who are also located in this datacenter can order a cross-connect from the datacenter to MEXEM’s client facing servers there. The client is responsible for the costs of the cross-connect. Once the cross-connect is ordered by the client (with NY4), MEXEM’s network engineers will work with the client and the datacenter.
